Applying for SNAP in Denver is a relatively easier process than in some states like Louisiana. Their SNAP system is more technologically friendly, and requires fewer steps throughout the process. As always, individuals are required to satisfy certain income requirements, location requirements, and work requirements for receiving SNAP Benefits.
To get started, individuals can visit: https://coloradopeak.secure.force.com/, for obtaining the SNAP application sheet. Additionally, they are welcome to visit any one of the three Denver Office locations for obtaining a hard-copy application. The first building is located at 1200 Federal Blvd, Denver; the next is at 3815 Street, Denver; and the final one is at M4685 Peoria Street, Denver. And, they’ll even fax or mail one to an applicant if they call the office at: 720-944-3666.
Applicants are then prompted to fill out as much of the application as they can. At the bare minimum, they’ll need a name, phone number, home address, and signature to get the process started. On this application, applicants are also able to apply for other government assistance programs in addition to SNAP by checking off the desired programs at the top of the sheet.
Applicants will then need to return the application to any one of the three listed locations. The more initial information they can provide, the quicker the process will be. If applicants return the application in person, they can schedule an appointment right then for an interview. If returned by mail, one of the offices will contact the applicant about an appointment. Appointments can be conducted in-person as well as over the phone. To save time, please bring the necessary paperwork ahead of time, including a birth certificate, Drivers License, Child Support documents, Pay Stubs, Unemployment compensation documents, Pension documents, social security letters and other documents, Veteran’s assistance letters, rental agreement, mortgage statement, utility bills, childcare expenses, medical bills, and bank statements.
