Wait-List Openings from Public Housing Agencies
It’s easy to let the stress and strain of today result in fear and anxiety in your life. We were curious if at the time this article was written(March 17, 2020,) if the public housing authorities were still in operation. This is what we found:
Affordable Housing Online is monitoring the federal government’s response to Coronavirus (COVID-19). As of March 13, 2020, Public Housing Agencies across the nation are closing their doors to the public. Generally, agencies are still operating and will communicate by phone, email, or mail. Some offices have drop boxes installed so documents can still be hand-delivered. Contact a housing authority or visit its website for details on its current operations.
We have contacted a few public housing authorities to confirm this from across the country. Outside of operations in person being either limited or closed to the public, it appears that it is business as usual and many still have waitlists open.
Contact your local public housing agency today and good luck.
